Maison Martin Margiela will be giving out some big spenders at the store in Hong Kong for the third year anniversary there. Particularly interesting since I’ve been considering Hong Kong for so long as a place to transfer to…now here’s the reason to go!

This month’s issue of AdBusters is a killer. With the recession continues, will this perhaps be finally the end of capitalism as we know it? What will be known as in the future as? I like the concept of Post-Pythagorean , I’ve sure had enough of their nonsense dominating our thinking.
Kick It Over Manifesto
We, the undersigned, make this accusation: that you, the
teachers of neoclassical economics and the students that you
graduate, have perpetuated a gigantic fraud upon the world.
You claim to work in a pure science of formula and law, but yours is a
social science, with all the fragility and uncertainty that this entails.
We accuse you of pretending to be what you are not.
You hide in your offices, protected by your mathematical jargon,
while in the real world, forests vanish, species perish and human
lives are callously destroyed. We accuse you of gross negligence in
the management of our planetary household.
You have known since its inception that one of your measures of
economic progress, the Gross Domestic Product, is fundamentally
flawed and incomplete, and yet you have allowed it to become a global
standard, reported day in, day out in every form of media. We accuse
you of recklessly projecting an illusion of progress.
You have done great harm, but your time is coming to a close. Your
systems are crumbling, your flaws increasingly laid bare. An economic
revolution has begun, as hopeful and determined as any in history. We
will have our clash of economic paradigms, we will have our moment
of truth, and out of each will come a new economics – open, holistic, human ‑scale.
On campus after campus, we will chase you old goats out of power.
Then, in the months and years that follow, we will begin the work of
reprogramming your doomsday machine.

If you’re in Gothenburg , be sure to stop by and pick up some of these babies. Neuhaus is a Belgian chocolate company, which originated from Switzerland. The dark chocolates and truffles and amazing. One thing I learned, is the difference between truffles (the funghi) and chocolate truffles. Apparently, the chocolate truffles are named after the fungus only because of its physical appearance, but are two different things! Sneaky French!
Typhoon Morakot has so far claimed around 600 people in Taiwan, with figures up to 10,000 are missing, may feared to be dead. We are living during some of the strangest times in history, where we have some of the wildest environmental catastrophes man has seen, however we also have technological advancements that this world has achieved. We can go to the moon, we can do brain surgeries from another continent, we have nano technology that have infinite possibilities. We have the most amazing special effects tv have ever witnessed, 24hours of entertainment, infinite arrays of choices for your mobiles, yet, we still have to face the same problems year after year, as if we never knew this was coming.
The coming years will be interesting. People are losing their homes if not to environmental disasters, then the economical crisis is going to be lurking around the corner. If you somehow survive all that, don’t worry there’s still the energy crisis waiting to catch everyone. What are you going to do when peak oil becomes a daily problem?
This building was great. You get everything from Antarctica to the amazons, and all the animals in between. From cute little monkeys to great white sharks (I think they are anyway). The rainforest is just amazing, would be amazing to go there when it’s snowing outside too! Continue reading ‘Universeum in GTB’
