<p><strong>Above:</strong> It&#8217;s like stepping back in time, or stepping into the romantic part of the 20th century everywhere you go in Paris.</p>
<p>The great city of Paris, could be a city which one can spend years to truly experience, we found ourselves merely 57 hours to discover as much as we could.<br />
<span id="more-19"></span></p>
<p>We were recommended <a href="http://www.eldoradohotel.fr/" target="_blank">Hotel Eldorado,</a> <a class="wpsulink_none" href="http://www.stumbleupon.com/url/http://www.eldoradohotel.fr/" target="_blank"><span></span></a> a coasy hotel in Paris, with cute interiors and homely feel, also their bistro was very highly recommended. Last minute I found an apartment to rent from an old friend of mine, for which we settled for instead.</p>
<p>Paris is in every way I remember it to be, it&#8217;s very easy to romanticize about the Parisian lifestyle, as it really does live up to its reputations. The light in Paris is, how can I put it, well&#8230;very Parisian. With the infamous 35 hour work week, the French really seems to be taking it to its full advantage.</p>
<p><img src="http://www.paulishere.com/blog/images/Paris/paulishere_6636.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /><br />
<img src="http://www.paulishere.com/blog/images/Paris/paulishere_6730.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="900" /></p>
<p><strong>Above:</strong> Paris in Summer, is almost paradise.</p>
<p>While putting together the Appendix™ project, I had the fortune to come in contact with <a href="http://www.appendix-mag.com/2009/07/08/chloe-poizat/" target="_blank">Chloé Poizat</a> <a class="wpsulink_none" href="http://www.stumbleupon.com/url/http://www.appendix-mag.com/2009/07/08/chloe-poizat/" target="_blank"><span></span></a>, who invited me to her studio and showed me their works.</p>
<p><img src="http://www.paulishere.com/blog/images/Paris/paulishere_6571.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="900" /><br />
<img src="http://www.paulishere.com/blog/images/Paris/paulishere_6582.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /><img src="http://www.paulishere.com/blog/images/Paris/paulishere_6585.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /><img src="http://www.paulishere.com/blog/images/Paris/paulishere_6588.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /><img src="http://www.paulishere.com/blog/images/Paris/paulishere_6593.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /></p>
<p><strong>Above:</strong> <a href="http://www.appendix-mag.com/2009/07/08/chloe-poizat/" target="_blank">Chloé Poizat</a> <a class="wpsulink_none" href="http://www.stumbleupon.com/url/http://www.appendix-mag.com/2009/07/08/chloe-poizat/" target="_blank"><span></span></a> at her studio with her works.</p>
<p>Speaking of food, if you are in the Jewish Quarter, Le Marais, you must try the kebab store, the green one, as it probably was one of the best kebabs apparently. <span style="text-decoration: line-through;">Anyone know the name of this place?</span> The address is &#8220;L&#8217;As du Falafel&#8221; 32 Rue des Rosiers, thanks Grace! And of course, the bakeries are just so&#8230;French!</p>
<p><img src="http://www.paulishere.com/blog/images/Paris/paulishere_6490.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /><img src="http://www.paulishere.com/blog/images/Paris/paulishere_6491.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /><img src="http://www.paulishere.com/blog/images/Paris/paulishere_6504.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /></p>
<p><strong>Above:</strong> The amazing array of colours of the bakeries in Paris, does wonders!</p>
<p><img src="http://www.paulishere.com/blog/images/Paris/paulishere_6513.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="900" /></p>
<p><strong>Above:</strong> Designers Burgunder (left) and Ahoulou (right) at their showroom in Paris.</p>
<p>We visited also <a href="http://www.appendix-mag.com/2009/07/08/ahoulou-burgunder-2/" target="_blank">Ahoulou Burgunder </a> <a class="wpsulink_none" href="http://www.stumbleupon.com/url/http://www.appendix-mag.com/2009/07/08/ahoulou-burgunder-2/" target="_blank"><span></span></a>who showed us their latest collection after the Paris Fashion Show, the Swiss pair have put together quite an interesting collection, combined with some nice classic Swiss graphic work by <a href="http://www.appendix-mag.com/2009/07/11/nick-widmer/" target="_blank">Nick Wildmer.</a> <a class="wpsulink_none" href="http://www.stumbleupon.com/url/http://www.appendix-mag.com/2009/07/11/nick-widmer/" target="_blank"><span></span></a></p>
<p><a href="http://www.appendix-mag.com/2009/07/11/nick-widmer/" target="_blank"></a> <a class="wpsulink_none" href="http://www.stumbleupon.com/url/http://www.appendix-mag.com/2009/07/11/nick-widmer/" target="_blank"><span></span></a><img src="http://www.paulishere.com/blog/images/Paris/paulishere_6526.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /><img src="http://www.paulishere.com/blog/images/Paris/paulishere_6541.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /><img src="http://www.paulishere.com/blog/images/Paris/paulishere_6543.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /><img src="http://www.paulishere.com/blog/images/Paris/paulishere_6596.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /><img src="http://www.paulishere.com/blog/images/Paris/paulishere_6599.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /><img src="http://www.paulishere.com/blog/images/Paris/paulishere_6604.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /><img src="http://www.paulishere.com/blog/images/Paris/paulishere_6605.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="900" /></p>
<p>If you&#8217;re around 20, rue Dupetit-Thouars 75003 Paris Métro : République (line 5,11,9,3) and Temple, definately check out Ofr, it&#8217;s a small bookshop, with one of the best magazine selections I&#8217;ve seen around the world, very coasy, very Parisian. If you&#8217;re along the lines of books and magazines, make your way to <a href="http://www.colette.fr" target="_blank">Colette (Address: 213 rue Saint-Honoré, 75001 Paris)</a> <a class="wpsulink_none" href="http://www.stumbleupon.com/url/http://www.colette.fr" target="_blank"><span></span></a> a French <a href="http://www.10corsocomo.com/" target="_blank">10 Corso Como</a> <a class="wpsulink_none" href="http://www.stumbleupon.com/url/http://www.10corsocomo.com/" target="_blank"><span></span></a>. Perhaps slightly more fancy, but slightly more commercial. The collection is not as varied but definitely more specific.</p>
<p><img src="http://www.paulishere.com/blog/images/Paris/paulishere_6607.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /><img src="http://www.paulishere.com/blog/images/Paris/paulishere_6700.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /><img src="http://www.paulishere.com/blog/images/Paris/paulishere_6708.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /><img src="http://www.paulishere.com/blog/images/Paris/paulishere_6709.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /><img src="http://www.paulishere.com/blog/images/Paris/paulishere_6737.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /><img src="http://www.paulishere.com/blog/images/Paris/paulishere_6742.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="900" /><img src="http://www.paulishere.com/blog/images/Paris/paulishere_6744.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /></p>
<p>Here&#8217;s another recommendation for a restaurant, which apparently was quite famous, as when we arrived, so did about six other people all disappointed to find that it was closed for renovations! So instead of <a href="http://www.restaurant-chartier.com/www/visit/filsdesans.php" target="_blank">Le Bouillon Chartier</a> <a class="wpsulink_none" href="http://www.stumbleupon.com/url/http://www.restaurant-chartier.com/www/visit/filsdesans.php" target="_blank"><span></span></a> we headed to the Italian restaurant opposite instead, not bad deal they had going there either.</p>
<p><img src="http://www.paulishere.com/blog/images/Paris/paulishere_6752.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /><img src="http://www.paulishere.com/blog/images/Paris/paulishere_6759.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /><img src="http://www.paulishere.com/blog/images/Paris/paulishere_6767.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /></p>
<p><img src="http://www.paulishere.com/blog/images/Paris/paulishere_6768.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="400" /></p>
<p>Five years ago I visited Paris and decided to save till the next time I visited Paris to see the <a href="http://www.centrepompidou.fr" target="_blank">Centre Pompidou</a> <a class="wpsulink_none" href="http://www.stumbleupon.com/url/http://www.centrepompidou.fr" target="_blank"><span></span></a>, as I wanted at least one full day. The Restaurant Georges on level 6, had an amazing view. The food wasn&#8217;t the most amazing, with more of traditional dish which they served. The waiters there had the classic black sharp look, while the waitresses all carried purses and dressed like regular guests. I couldn&#8217;t help myself but to ask one of the waiters about the situation, to which he replied in a slightly spiteful answer that this was just the way things were.</p>
